Bayshore TeamKID Music and Missions Programs
TeamKID 3, 4, and 5-year-olds — A pre-choral activity group. By listening to music and by singing, the concepts to be explored will include melody and rhythm; four kinds of voices—speaking, singing, whispering and calling; fast and slow, loud and quiet, and various moods and feelings; as well as steady beat, long and short sounds, same or different pitches, sound versus silence, and same or different rhythm patterns. Children will explore missions through hands-on activities.
TeamKID Grades 1- 2 — A beginning choral experience. This group will introduce proper singing posture and production of primary vowels and consonant sounds. They will prepare for part-singing through games and action songs, play classroom instruments and perform hand jives to steady beat and begin using the sol-fa (also known as solfeggio) system of leaning melody.
TeamKID Grades 3 - 5 - An intermediate choral experience. This group will build on the foundation built in the younger years with an emphasis on learning accuracy of pitch, extending their vocal ranges, increasing their vocal flexibility, and continuing to learn to sing in parts. They will learn to recognize form in music, expression markings, and directional markings in music. |
