Schedule changes are not made casually and with much prayer and consideration. Critical reasons for the change include:
- Desire to reach a new generation of young adults and young families for whom 8:30 am is too early
- Traditional service offered at time that will attract early worshippers
- Worship services need to be an hour in length
- Bible study needs to have a higher priority with more time for discussion and fellowship
- Ministry requires time to connect with guests and members
- Change in schedule corresponds with new renovation with emphasis on fellowship
- Schedule change benefits students and families
A complete explanation of the schedule change has been mailed to the congregation prior to Sunday, August 10. Click here for the full explanation.
The final paragraph of the complete explanation is a challenge to the congregation:
Bayshore has always embraced change. We are innovators and leaders. We are bridge-builders and caretakers of the legacy given to us by the visionaries who established and enabled this church to grow. Those visionaries would not have been deterred by the cultural changes facing us today. Like those who have paved the way before us, we embrace the challenges of a new generation and will use them as opportunities to welcome new neighbors and friends into God's fellowship at Bayshore.
