In the same week we received two very large gifts to the capital campaign for building renovation. One is confidential as are most of the gifts. The amount was $50,000. The other gift was from the estate of Lillian Davis. She left in her will that we would recieve approximately $500,000 sometime in 2008-2009. We received $250,000 of that amount on Tuesday. We are grateful to the family and to God for Mrs. Davis generous legacy and ongoing contributions. Including this gift, the total amount given to Love's Open Door is now $610,516.16 through Tuesday, May 6. May God continue to bless us as we meet the challenges of building renovation giving and sacrificing together as a church family. The big gift of a "Zacchaeus" and the small gift of the "widow's mite" were both recognized by Jesus as valuable not because of amount, but because of heart and spirit.
