Karl's passion is building choirs, praise teams and congregations. He strives to bring out the best in vocalists, believing they are ministers who have an important role in leading people in worship. He believes true worship can be experienced in any musical style and loves the fact that Bayshore has both traditional and praise and worship services.

Karl is equally committed to both traditional and contemporary music, a very difficult task in today's world of music specialization. Most people interviewed specialized in one or the other and the Committee would not accept a compromise in the quality of either service. Karl not only cherishes traditional music, he incorporates traditional elements into contemporary services to keep hymns, anthems and traditions alive for those who have not grown up with the traditions we celebrate at Bayshore.  --Ann Sahlman, Music Minister Search Committee Chair
