Bayshore Baptist Church Events

Overview of capital campaign and planning for building renovation

We are preparing for the renovation of our education buildings and the construction of a new multi-purpose building. The education buildings include our preschool space, the fellowship hall, and the upstairs area in which children and youth have their events. The plans include adding an elevator. In May 2007, the church approved the Master Plan for future construction and renovation. In September we voted to enter into a capital fund-raising program led by Generis Partners from Atlanta, Georgia. Our consultant is Ruben Swint. He met with us in October and November 2007 to organize a Campaign Team. Kim Hoffman and Tim Hunt have led the Capital Campaign called Love's Open Door in which we raised almost $2.2 million. Commitment Sunday was March 16, 2008.

The decisions we make regarding building are determined by the amount of money we raise and other funds that might be available through the church budget or by borrowing. The Building & Renovation Committee and the Financial Board developed a joint recommendation which was unanimously affirmed by the Deacons and discussed by the church on Wednesday, April 2. The church adopted this recommendation overwhelmingly on Sunday, April 6.
