Shawn's Passion

First and foremost, I believe my calling is to Jesus Christ.

He is daily calling me to an intimate personal relationship with Him.

God has given me a passion to see students of this generation come to know

the power and grace of Jesus Christ. I want to see a faceless array of students

stand up for the Glory of God and live a life that is worthy of His calling.

I am willing to use the gifts, talents, and abilities he has given me

to see that vision come true and lived out.

Shawn's Testimony

When I was in the eighth grade, my best friend Tye Rambo invited me to

a weekend student ministry event at his church.  My family was not a church-going family, but because I would get to hang out with all my friends for the entire weekend,

I decided to go. It was at this event, I understood who Jesus Christ is and

what He did for me on the Cross.

From that moment on, I have given my life to Jesus Christ and continue to grow

in my relationship with Him. I have seen the importance of the local church body

and hope to continue to expand God’s Kingdom throughout Tampa

and the rest of the world.

             

Rachel and I got married on May 16th 2009. She is born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. She has had the privilege to grow up in a home that loves the Lord.

She will be graduating from Southeastern University with a double major

in theater and children’s ministry. She has a passion to help mentor girls

in their walk with Christ. 

Shawn's Background

Shawn has worked in student ministry since 2005.  For the last 2 years,

he served as as Pastor to Students at First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace.

Prior church assignments were in Cumming, Georgia; Lakeland, Florida; and Plainview, Texas. Shawn attended Wayland Baptist University

in the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS.
