An Update to Our Bayshore Church Family

From Jane Lang & Scott McClelland

Moving Forward

This week has been an especially busy one for the Church staff, Deacons and the various committees you elected to serve the Church body.  We want to keep you up-to-date on the activities taking place to celebrate Steve and Joy Hadden’s many contributions to Bayshore and to prepare for the transition ahead.

Moving Forward In Prayer – Prayer supports every step we take as a Church.  Please pray for Steve and Joy as they begin a wonderful new ministry in Kentucky and for Bayshore as, together, we continue to expand the dream established during their ministry here.

Reception For Steve and Joy/Love Offering – A reception will be held on Sunday, January 31 at 12:15 p.m. in the Lobby so you can personally thank them and share your memories of the many good times we have shared.  The church will also be collecting a love offering for Steve and Joy which can be dropped off or mailed to the church.   Steve’s last Sunday will be February 14th.

Deacons Helping With Pastoral Duties – With their expanding role under Bayshore’s Constitution, the Deacons will be even more involved in assisting the staff in hospital visitations, bereavement support and other support ministries needed by our Church Family.  Bayshore’s Deacons provide the spiritual foundation of the Church.

Sunday Guest Preachers – A committee has been formed to help church staff arrange guest preachers and develop special topics for study from the pulpit during February, March and April. This committee will carefully monitor requests from the congregation and staffing needs.  The speakers, some from our own congregation, will include various preaching styles and subjects to help identify congregational preferences and keep it interesting.

Pastor Search Committee Nominations – Under the new Constitution, the Advisory Council is responsible for recommending a Pastor Search Committee to the congregation.  Please send your nominations for persons to serve on the committee to any member of the Advisory Council:  Scott McClelland, Tom Morris, Jane Lang, Tim Hunt, Judy Richman, Jim Strange, Ann Sahlman, Barb Tolbert, Brian Ussery, Larry McDowell or Gloria Scarle.

These are exciting days for Bayshore.  Every single member of Bayshore’s family will have an important role in shaping the future of our Church.
