INFO:

I moved out here from Los Angeles and have been the Worship Leader / Music Minister at Bayshore for about 3 years now and love it. I am a writer, artist and studio vocal coach and have also been involved in church music for about 19 years. I am married to the coolest girl in the world, my wife Callie, a dedicated 2nd grade teacher. We have a 3 year old daughter, Caia-Jolie, the smoothest little rockstar ever, and are in the process of adopting a son in the near future! We love Tampa and are excited to see what God has planned for Bayshore!

WHY MINISTRY?

I want to see people meet Jesus, and learn to follow him. I want people to experience what it is to worship with abandon and praise extravagantly. Hopefully, people will see a glimpse of the grace of Christ through each of us at Bayshore. I hope to break down barriers, shatter pre-conceived notions of Christianity, and open the doors for anyone to find a home, and a place to grow. I can’t think of a better way to spend the few moments of time I have on this beautiful speck of dust called Earth.

THE CHURCH I SEE :

I see a church that is balanced in Spirit and Truth, a church that reaches out to the "least of these" and wants everyone to find a safe place to hear the great news of Jesus. I believe that God loves you just as you are, but loves you too much to leave you there. He has plans for each of us. The church I see reaches out with the active love of Jesus to those who have been hurt by church, by religion, have been cast aside, forgotten or maligned. I hope to see a church that repairs the bridges that were burned by racism, legalism and blind religiosity.

I am blessed to see a church that  worship's God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and does not worship a denomination, a label,  or a political party, I hope to see a group of Christ followers, humbled by grace, showing mercy without condition. I see a church that shows the face of Jesus smiling, shows the hands of Jesus helping, and the feet of Jesus leading the way into the Kingdom of God.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT BAYSHORE?

The amazing people! 

USELESS FACTS:

I was raised in Cuba….. NM.

I’m an aviation nut, have been skydiving, and hope to get my pilot’s license someday.

I can probably still pick a lock.

FAVORITE MOVIES:

Too many to mention so here goes….. (big breath)… Top Gun, Lord of The Rings trilogy, Matrix Trilogy, numerous of foreign films, indy goes pop, Stigmata, The Devil’s Advocate, (I think EVERY Christian should watch it!), all of the Naked Guns, Airplane 1,2,3, (very thought provoking) Flawless, Troy, Star Wars.. all 6

FAVORITE MUSIC:

MORRISON AVENUE!!!!!!!! And everything from Opera to Rock, Metal, R&B, and Jazz. Billy Holiday, Andrea Bocelli, Thomas Hampson, U2!!!!!, MUSE, Coldplay, Radio Head… (favorite of all time!), Puccini, Palestrina, Beethoven, Back, Brahms, Stevie Ray Vaughn,  Johnny Lang, Mary J. Blige, 10th Ave. North, Metallica, Kirk Franklin, Bishop Jakes, Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin , Bayshore Worship, Nina Symone, and the list goes on.

FAVORITE FOODS:

New Mexican, Indian, Thai, Pakistani.

HOBBIES:

Songwriting, Traveling , snorkeling , biking, swimming.
