I have a passion for preaching the word of God, for deepening the worship life of God’s people, and for helping the community of faith to connect its story with the story of redemption being told in and through Jesus Christ.
My wife, Heather, and I have been married for almost fourteen years. For thirteen of those years she and I have worked together on church staff. Sharing ministry and marriage has been a wonderful combination, but we are at a season of life in which we are ready for Heather to step away from the demands of vocational ministry. We have two beautiful daughters, Ashlyn and Addie, who are growing up unbelievably fast.
As for me, I have pastored two congregations over the last thirteen years. I love the local church and am blessed that God has called me to serve it. I truly enjoy the work of a pastor. Whether it is preaching, visiting the sick, preparing for a committee meeting, or moving tables and chairs for a fellowship meal, there is nothing more satisfying to me than being a part of what God is doing through His people.
WHY MINISTRY? Having trying to go in other directions I finally realized that this was God's call on my life and that therefore nothing else would satisfy.
THE CHURCH I SEE: A church that transcends the trite disctinctions this world uses ( such as Liberal/Conservative, Republican/Democrat, Traditional/Contemporary) and focuses on wrestling with the truly incredible mystery that God, by his grace, has chosen to include us in his plan to redeeem the whole world back to himself.
