Gary McCall

I am married to Janice. We met in junior high school in Durham, North Carolina. We were married in 1973 after our sophomore year in college at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I have served churches in Chesapeake and Richmond, Virginia, and in Brandon, Florida. Janice and I have one daughter, Adrienne, who lives in New York City. I am the oldest of four brothers. For several years, I worked as a travel agent planning trips for families and individuals. I have been at Bayshore on staff since August 2006.

Why ministry?

I have sensed a call to ministry since I was fifteen years old. I grew up in a small church of less than one hundred members. I am in ministry because God gave me a love for people and a desire for the church to be a place where God’s love and grace are expressed and where God’s Spirit is at work as people serve together.

The church I see:

I see Bayshore as a place where people are growing in their love for God, for each other, and are showing that love by serving. I want Bayshore to be a place where every person is cared for and every person cares for someone else.

Favorite thing about Bayshore:

The incredible stories of senior adults, many who still provide meaningful leadership and prayer support.

I have a brother who lives near Anchorage, Alaska.
