Church enters into coalition for ministry at Faith Cafe

The Church family in the Business Meeting on Wed, Nov 14, affirmed the decision of the Missions Committee to join the coalition of churches who directly support the ministry of the Faith Cafe. Working with Metropolitan Ministries, the Faith Cafe feeds people who may be homeless, in financial straits, or are in need of a hot meal. We join five churches in south Tampa who are part of this coalition: St. Mary's Episcopal, Good Shepherd Lutheran, Christ the King Catholic, Palma Ceia Presbyterian, and Hyde Park Presbyterian. We will be the sixth church.

Being part of the coalition requires an annual expenditure of $2,500 which goes to help with the costs. We are paying for this with missions money available in the budget from undesignated giving. We also have the opportunity to have two board members. Their leadership means we will have input on the future direction and support of this ministry.
